Sleep closer to the floor — and closer to something real. Our shikibuton brings the timeless simplicity of Japanese floor sleeping to your home, handcrafted in the USA with the same unhurried attention to detail that defines the tradition. At a true 3-inch thickness, it works beautifully as a standalone sleep surface or as a plush mattress topper, wrapped in pre-washed 100% cotton twill that feels broken-in from night one.
Every shikibuton is built entirely by hand. Authentic hand-tufting locks the fill in place without machines. A clean knife-edge casing is hand-stitched shut — no zippers, no bulk, no compromises. The result is a futon that looks as considered as it feels. It ships vacuum-packed into a surprisingly compact box, ready to unfurl and settle in.
