The Captain's Bed is a substantial piece of solid wood furniture with integrated storage—so how it's delivered and assembled matters. We offer flexible options to fit your home layout, staircase situation, and how much you want to handle yourself.
Choose Your Delivery Option at Checkout
Start by selecting one of three delivery options:
- Room of Choice Delivery & Assembly — $149 (Recommended): The most hands-off experience. Includes scheduled delivery to your room (up to 2 flights of stairs), unpacking, and debris removal. Your bed ships pre-assembled, and our team carries it to your room and completes setup on the spot. Twin and Twin XL arrive as a single ready-to-use piece. Full, Queen, and King sizes ship in two assembled halves joined on-site with two bolts (~10 minutes). No tools, no effort on your end.
- Room of Choice Delivery — $99: Scheduled delivery to your room (up to 2 flights of stairs). Your bed ships flat-packed (KD) in boxes. Assembly is not included—you'll put it together yourself.

If you're not sure the pre-assembled bed will fit through your entryway, check our fit guide before ordering. For tight spaces, we can ship the bed partially assembled (drawers pre-built, frame flat-packed) or fully flat-packed—and then send our team to assemble it in your home after delivery. These are custom arrangements not available directly at checkout—contact us before ordering and we'll set it up for you.

Because this model features twice the drawer capacity, the additional drawer tracks and heavier frame naturally increase the total assembly time. Captain's Beds with No Drawers
If you prefer the clean, robust look of a platform bed without the complexity of drawer rails and housing, assembly is significantly faster and more straightforward.

Leveling
Captain’s beds must be placed on a flat, level surface to look and operate properly. Because these beds include drawers and a precisely fitted frame, even a slight floor unevenness can affect how the bed sits and how the drawers open and close.
If the floor is not level, you may notice:
- drawers that do not glide smoothly
- gaps that look uneven
- slight shifting or wobbling
- added stress on the frame over time
For best results, we recommend checking the floor during assembly and using appropriate floor shims if needed to achieve a level setup. Proper leveling helps ensure the bed looks right, functions properly, and performs as intended over time.
